A plate or VIN and the date you took custody. The clock starts the moment you save — it never waits on a records lookup.

These are Texas dates. Chapter 2303 sets them, and the board computes them for Texas yards.

Notice failures are Class B violations on TDLR’s published VSF sanctions schedule: $500 to $1,500 per occurrence plus probated suspension, and they stack per vehicle. Recent final orders run from $600 at a 4-truck yard to $11,500 in one multi-count order. The board exists so none of your vehicles becomes an occurrence.

The letter is checked. The proof stays on the file.

Every §2303.153 required item, on every letter

  • Date of receipt and storage accrual date
  • Daily storage rate and total charges due
  • Facility name, address, and TDLR license number
  • Owner and lienholder of record, from your own lookup

The letter itself prints plain black-on-white, the way TDLR expects paperwork to look. Certified with electronic return receipt, at cost.

Unclaimed by day 30? The packet is ready.

VTR-265-VSF and 130-U, filled from the file, with the date-stamped proof of mailing attached — the packet the county actually accepts.
